La reconstrucción total de pene es un desafío reconstructivo mayor. Lograr sensibilidad de la piel, una uretra sin obstrucciones ni fístulas y rigidez que permitan tener relaciones, junto con un aceptable resultado estético son algunos de los objetivos más importantes.
Para lograr estos objetivos en nuestro paciente, en dos cirugías, utilizamos tejido del muslo (colgajo ALT pediculado y neurotizado), construimos una nueva uretra bajo la piel del muslo, y utilizamos un hueso de la pierna (colgajo libre de peroné) para darle rigidez. Nuestro paciente sufría cáncer de pene y como parte de su tratamiento, su pene fue amputado en su totalidad. Ya de alta, ahora esta contento y optimista de ser el primer paciente en Chile que recibe esta opción reconstructiva y de continuar con su recuperación.

Total penile reconstruction is a major reconstructive challenge. Achieving skin sensitivity, an urethra without obstructions or fistulas and rigidity that allow intercourse, together with an acceptable aesthetic result are some of the most important objectives.
To achieve these objectives in our patient, in two surgeries, we used thigh tissue (pedicled and neurotized ALT flap), we built a new urethra under the skin of the thigh, and we used a leg bone (free fibular flap) to give it rigidity . Our patient suffered from cancer of the penis and as part of his treatment, his penis was amputated in its entirety. Already on discharge, now he is happy and optimistic of being the first patient in Chile to receive this reconstructive option and to continue with his recovery.
