Migraine trigger point deactivation surgery is a treatment option in patients with chronic migraine. The International Headache Society defines patients with chronic migraine who during a period of at least 3 months have more than 15 days of headache, of which at least 8 days have migraine characteristics. Migraine surgery has shown an effectiveness of about 90% in eliminating or significantly reducing migraine.
